Today and tomorrow are my last two days of work in Utah.
Thursday we head to Seattle bright and early for an awesome and fun Ultra Ragnar experience!
Late Monday night we return and I scramble to make the most of my last few days in Utah + finish up the packing!
Two weeks from today I hit the road for MN!
Wowwwwserrrrs. Sometimes its difficult for me to not get overwhelmed during a crazy time like this. But I do think I have done the best I can. My motto for these upcoming exciting/fun/crazy times has already been BALANCE!
I am trying to balance taking care of myself, running, time with my pups, work, my "to-do" list for the move, friends, family, etc by reminding myself daily that the best I can do is take everything ONE thing and moment at a time. I have made a point to be extremely aware of how I am feeling and when I am getting too overwhelmed and then quickly reminding myself that I can only do my best and to get right back to what I can take care of in THIS moment. Sometimes that is honestly a quick nap or breath of fresh air outside with the pups. Other times its making a goal to just pack one box. But it all helps and makes a difference!
So far I still feel more calmness than I ever have in the midst of so many changes...but I also feel a bit more anxiety every day. I think that its all normal though:)
How do you handle change? Stress? What are your tips for maintaining balance?
At least BIG BROTHER is back for the summer...any other obsessed HUGE fans out there;)??

ReplyDeleteBoy oh boy, does that sound like a lot!!! When we moved back to NJ from San Diego I wasn't able to handle the stress very well and got overwhelmed. It sounds like you are doing a good job of finding that ever elusive balance that we all strive for!!!
ReplyDeleteThat'll keep you busy, have a good few weeks, they'll fly by and you'll get through it all!
ReplyDeleteI think that you are an excellent example of finding balance. It really can be so hard but you have the ability to stay calm and make it work. I think the most important thing for me is to sit down and make a realistic and acheivable list of what I want to accomplish. Otherwise I will just put it off until it is too late. ha! Only 2 weeks?? :(:( Yikes!
ReplyDeletesometimes its hard to maintain sanity during high stress times, I think you are doing a marvelous job!!
ReplyDeleteHANG IN THERE! Life can be so stressful but remember these stresses are transient!

ReplyDeleteHave a great time with the Ragnar! You're on the right track, keep breathing, give your pups a hug and take things one step at a time, it'll be ok.

ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful time at Ragnar, and a great final day at work! Good luck with all the packing.
I can't wait to see how the next chapter of your life unfolds, there is so much to look forward to :)
Keeping balance? Hmmm...when all else fails just look at your puppies and take a hint from them - run around like crazy, have a drink of water and bite to eat, and then take a nap in the sunshine. Everything looks better after that.
Such big and exciting things going on! I agree, it's easy to get overwhelmed at times like this but it sounds like you have a great approach. I think balance is so important, even in ordinary everyday life….but it's also sometimes easier said than done :) Congrats and good luck on all of your exciting things!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how fast this is all happening! I feel like just yesterday we were eating brunch at Fresh! I make lists and write things down. It helps to clear my head and gives me a structure as to what I need to deal with. I'm with you on the naps. They work every.single.time!
